Initial Development
As this was a Monopoly Map, I was instantly taken by the idea of different tiles on a monopoly board, and the unique traits that each of them have.
It was also important for both Hasbro and the team to convey the parts of the board in a meaningful way in the correct order.
The development of this level required tooling to create animation sequences for different obstacles, to have moving trains and cars throughout the chaotic experience. This tool was later utilised throughout the rest of the games development for future levels, and was often improved and expanded on.
The level was created with the most important board section in mind first, so I developed the idea of the train stations and the corner sections, with the property based tiles acting as zones of respite for the player to move to the next sections.
Brand Identity And Release
It was important to bring the brands of Monopoly and Stumble guys together, and this was an enormous success. The level was played by millions of players worldwide and is still considered the most ambitious and largest maps in Stumble guys to date.
